47 years of Dentistry

After 47 years of caring for smiles across Queensland, Dr Kim Reeves has retired. For the patients, families and colleagues who came to know his calm manner and familiar smile, it marks the end of a remarkable chapter.

A career built on trust

Dr Kim worked in and owned dental practices across Emerald, Brisbane, Dalby and Oakey. Over those years, he treated thousands of patients, including generations of the same families. Many will remember the way he could settle a nervous patient with a few reassuring words, a gentle approach and an easy smile.

His work was never simply about teeth. Dr Kim took the time to listen, explain and make people feel comfortable. That steady, thoughtful way of caring for patients became one of the hallmarks of his career.

More than a dentist

To our dental family, Dr Kim is far more than an exceptional dentist. He is a husband, father, grandfather, mentor—and a devoted cinnamon doughnut lover. The kindness patients saw in the surgery is the same kindness his family and friends have always known.

This retirement also belongs to Lindy. For decades, she worked tirelessly alongside Dr Kim, helping manage their practices and supporting him through every stage of the journey. Her strength, dedication and hard work were central to everything they built together.

A family legacy

One of the greatest privileges for our dental family has been seeing Chris follow in his father’s footsteps—and watching father and son work side by side.

Kim’s influence can be seen in the way Dr Chris treats his own patients: with patience, care and genuine consideration for the person in the chair.

Although we will miss seeing Dr Kim around the practice, what he has passed on will remain. It lives in the colleagues he guided, the family he inspired and the values that continue to shape Oakey Family Dental.
